2019 Award Winner

Our 2019 Outstanding Texas Audiologist is Dr. Jennifer Bobo. There is no better way to describe Jennifer and her professional endeavors and accomplishments than to quote her friend and colleague, Kim Ringer.

“After 7 years in a private practice, she joined American Hearing Aid Associates where she became acquainted with more and more audiologists in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico, and really, around the USA, as she helped to grow businesses and partner with them.    As she became more widely known in the states she worked, not only did she excel and profit professionally, she always gave of herself and dedicated her innate “relationship building” personality to teach, outreach and bring people together.   She loves people and loves Audiology.  She yearns to give back to a profession that gives so much to her.    After AHAA, she joined Oticon as an Account Manager.  Sales awards abounded during her years at Oticon but, perhaps,  she is best known for her ability to reach out and offer a helping hand not only to her customers,  but also, to the Audiology  community at large and others on her team.

Jennifer stepped up to serve the Texas Academy of Audiology in 2010  when a board member couldn’t fulfill his duties.  Since then….. watch out Texas.   Her desire to see our profession grow and prosper has exploded over the last 10 years with no signs of slowing down.   She is a leader in our field.   She has served TAA as VP of Membership, President Elect, President, Past President, Exhibitor Liaison, member at large and VP of Education and TAA conference lead.  She motivated Louisiana Audiology Leaders to form the Louisiana Academy of Audiology in 2013. and has served closely with them since their inception to build their Association  and to develop an amazing educational Fall conference for Louisiana Audiologists.

Jennifer is a mover and shaker.   She spends countless hours of time planning and developing these two state academies  – TAA after 20 years and LAA after 6.   Jennifer is a founding board member for the FLASC group – The Future Leaders of Audiology Student Conference held yearly in Texas or Louisiana.    She has also worked closely with the American Academy of Audiology and has served on the Best Practices Committee, contributed to a chapter on Best Practices in marketing for the AAA Best Practices book, was a member of the AAA Leadership Development Committee and is currently a part of  the AAA Vendor Relations Task Force.  She was a member of the Scott Haug Foundation and is currently involved in the Dallas Audiology Society.    She is dedicated to making sure this profession is strong and sound even after she is gone.  During her 24 years as a professional Audiologist she has done more for Texas Audiology than many put together.   Her care and concern and dedication and willingness to fight for our professional  will be felt for many years in Texas.” Congratulations Jennifer!
