2018 Award Winner

Our 2018 Outstanding Texas Audiologist award was announced at the TAA Conference in The Woodlands. This year’s winner was awarded posthumously to Creig Dunckel, a well-known and respected  Texas audiologist and educator, who died suddenly on May 23, 2018. He and his family lived in the Dallas area for 42 years, where he established several successful audiology practices. In addition to his private practices, he was a consultant and educator for ReSound, and most recently, for Oticon.

Creig had a heart for students and a gift for teaching.   He had a knack for sharing his knowledge of audiology and practice management with others. His teaching, supervision, mentorship, support, and encouragement impacted hundreds of audiologists, not only in Texas, but throughout the nation.

As stated by a dear friend and colleague, Rennae Pickert, “The world of audiology lost an icon when he left this earth, but we will always cherish his memory and the world of audiology that he created.”
